BOFA 2008: Wood Winters Wines & Whiskies, Bridge of Allan

We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy wines that are a cut above those available in the supermarket - without the need to become a wine-buff, and without the fear of buying a dud when experimenting.

Buying wine should be a pleasure, so we do all we can to make our service friendly and personal. We treat our customers like wine-loving friends; pointing them in the right direction and getting to know what they like. And when we know what you like, we can deliver more of it!

Saten Franciacorta, Ferghettina, 2003

Lombardy, Italy Qty: 1 Unit Price: £20.00 Total Price: £20.00
Tasting Note: The alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tank at controlled temperature between 16 and 18 °C with selected yeast. 10% of the base wine finishes alcoholic fermentation in used barriques and matures there for 5 months. Tirage is carried out in spring time of the following year. The wine has 36 month of ageing on the lees. Dosage add is 7 grams/litre of sugar. Saten has a lower pressure ( less than 4,5 atmospheres) then other Franciacorta and this is responsible for its distinctive softness. Beautifully elegant and complex with a delicious creamy texture. An intruiging interplay of peachy fruit, subtle mineral qualities, a buttery brioche character and a hint of almond and honey. Mellow, fine, long and sophisticated.

Service Suggestions: Try it with soft, creamy cheeses. Variety: Chardonnay

Novello di Teroldego, Terrazze della Luna, 2008

Trentino, Italy Qty: 1 Unit Price: £6.50 Total Price: £6.50
Tasting Note:
Fresh and fun this light red is packed full of vibrant red fruits. Designed to be red and juicy without the tannin. A wonderful alternative to Beaujolais Nouveau.

Service Suggestions: Serve very slightly chilled. This wine is best consumed in its first six months of life. Variety: Teroldego

Conan the Barbera, Graham Wharmby, 2004

Piedmont, Italy Qty: 1 Unit Price: £12.50 Total Price: £12.50

Tasting Note:
Just click on the image and read the back label - very funny indeed!

Service Suggestions:
A big wine for big glasses and big Italian food! Variety: Barbera
